FEBRUARY 28 FROM 1-2PM
Tulsa Girl Power is opening the garage to everyone.
We’re collaborating with author, teacher, and builder Lucas Spivey (and his restored 1970 Ford F100, Darla) to create a beginner-friendly workshop where men and women can learn real car basics in a supportive, hands-on, judgment-free space.
No gatekeeping. No pretending you already know this stuff. Just practical skills that make everyday car ownership less intimidating.
Lucas comes from a family of mechanics and has 25 years of hands-on experience working on his own vehicles. He’s great at translating complex systems into plain language so beginners can understand what’s happening under the hood.
We’ll cover:
What’s under your hood and how it works
Batteries: jump, replace, maintain
Reading oil + checking engine health
Air filters, belts, fluids, spark plugs
Tire inspection + emergency basics
What to keep in your car for real-life situationsThe heartbeat of Tulsa Girl Power has always been confidence through practical knowledge. This workshop extends that mission into a co-ed space where learning is shared, accessible, and empowering.
By signing up, participants acknowledge that Tulsa Girl Power, its founder, and collaborators are not liable for injury, damage, or loss related to participation in this workshop.
