In the early 80s, visual artist Jean-Michel Basquiat told Madonna he was jealous of music as a medium because it reached people more directly than visual art. I think about that often—how emotion can move faster than explanation.

This playlist is my closest form of musical storytelling and is a companion piece to my project The Tortured Romantic, and functions as a response to a fictional investigator who exists in a fantasy where red-pill ideology does not exist.
